Abamwe Women Company was started in 2019 in Scarborough, Ontario. This is who we are and why we began.

Who Abamwe is for
Women in [town] and the surrounding area who want somewhere to put their skills, their questions and their time. Some come because they are looking for work. Some come because they are building something. Some come because they had just moved and did not know anybody.
You do not need a referral, a qualification, or to know a single person here already. Most of us did not, the first time.

Summer Women's Gathering
Workshops, shared food, and a panel on getting back into professional work after moving countries. Scarborough. Around 120 came.
Business Skills Intensive, Cohort 3
Six evenings across three weeks on bookkeeping, pricing and registering a business in Ontario. Toronto. 28 women finished.
Community Fundraising Dinner
Organised end to end for a partner organisation, from venue to programme to clean-up. Etobicoke. Around 200 came.
